Animal Activism I place my work with animals above everything else, and animal welfare has always been close to my heart… Most of my activities especially my publication work support animals in every possible way. For over two decades, I have continuously rescued and re-homed lost and abandoned pet dogs and cats. The ones that do not get adopted stay with me in my house, which has turned into a home for dozens of old, blind, deaf, crippled, and injured animals that coexist with my own pets. Like all other animal lovers, I feed street animals and voice out for their existence in urban landscapes, as they are an integral part of it. A deep concern for suffering and working animals led me to join the mission of camel rescues in Hyderabad—to save them from slaughter and send them back to Rajasthan, where they belong. I stable retired old racehorses and ponies—not for adrenaline rushes, but for the love of animals. I instill the same conscientiousness and compassion for these lovely companionable giant creatures in my horse-riding students. I actively sign online petitions against cruelty to animals across the world, including: - Sport, entertainment, or experiments on animals in labs - Poaching, trophy hunting - Cruelty to dairy farm animals bred in merciless plants I advocate for veganism on social media and promote cruelty-free foods. I truly believe, “a part of you remains unevolved if you haven’t loved animals”… especially for artists who derive constant inspiration from animals and nature. I grew up surrounded by pets in houses with backyards flowing into wilderness—letting cats cozy up all over, watching birds nestle, and seeing squirrels and rabbits play. I coexisted with frogs and snakes while my dogs playfully chased peacocks! Animals have always been and will remain an integral part of my existence. • My future plan is to establish a home for retired, old, and injured horses in Hyderabad. • To provide free animal ambulance services in Hyderabad. - Pratimasagar
